Yes!! This misconception is rampant. I constantly see people buying baked goods and thinking they are healthy because they are sweetened with honey or maple syrup.

Thanks for helping to bust this myth. I’ve written a few articles about sugars, including one around the myth that sugar is toxic. Like everything, it’s the dose that makes the poison… and the context (with fiber and nutrients = good!). If sugar itself were toxic, then fruit would be off limits and the opposite is true.

I also think our society could benefit from embracing savoury foods, especially for kids. Sugar is everywhere!
